What to do when it's 107 degrees outside....stay inside!

The weather here lately has been hot, hot, hot. In fact yesterday it reached 110 degrees by mid afternoon. That is unusually hot for this time of year, and although I have gotten used to the heat, there is nothing that prepares you for temperatures that high. It literally feels like you are stepping into an oven every time you leave the house. Well, I don't know what to do with the kids when it gets that hot, and staying at home all the time gets boring pretty fast, so Matthew and I decided to take the kids to the Tucson Children's Museum one afternoon. It's an older building that is only one floor, but it is a lot of fun, and very educational. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have and I didn't get any of Aidan in the dinosaur room (which is a shame because it was his favorite room.) The dinosaurs are mechanical and move their heads around. Aidan was a little timid at first, seeing as the dinosaurs were so large and appeared to him to be real. I didn't really help matters much by going over to the T-Rex and sticking my hand near it's mouth. Aidan freaked out and yelled, rather loudly, "don't mom, he's going to bite you!" and ran over to me and starting tugging at my arm. I think he is a little too young to have gotten my joke. Anyway, it was so much fun for them and nice and cool and air conditioned for us.

In the "Wee World" playing with the frogs that jump off when they reach the top
Emma in the block pit, she loved it there and spent quite some time playing with the blocks and crawling around.
Aidan dressed up as a fireman. There was a real working fire truck behind him and he and Matthew got all dressed up in their fireman gear and "rode" in the truck with the lights on.
